DANIEL
As a young man, he was taken into Babylonian captivity in 605 B.C., during the first deportation under King Nebuchadnezzar, along with thousands of fellow Israelites.
Daniel’s writings emphasize God’s absolute sovereignty over the nations of the world. He foretold the fall of Babylon and the rise and fall of the Medo-Persian, Greek, and Roman empires.
Most significantly, he prophesied the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom during the reign of the Roman Empire—a kingdom that would never be destroyed but would stand forever in God’s divine plan (Daniel 2:44).
