DEUTERONOMY
Moses penned this document near the end of the era of wilderness wandering. Its design is to rehearse the law for the new generation about to enter Canaan—the older generation having died out in the wilderness, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb (1:1-3).
The book was a reminder to the Hebrew people that they must love God, listen to him, and observe his laws.
