GENESIS

What Is the Book of Genesis About in the Bible?
The opening book of the Bible is a document of "beginnings." It consists of 50 chapters in our modern translations.

Written by Moses some 1,500 years before Christ, it introduces the beginning of the Universe, life, mankind, the home, sin, the plan of redemption, nations, diverse human languages, and the Hebrew family -- through whom the Savior would enter the world.

The book of Genesis spans that era from the creation of the universe to Joseph's death.
